Matt and Elmo

Uncle Scott and Aunt Jodi got Matthew a gift. Matt has no idea what's going on at this point.

As soon as he saw Elmo in the box, he got excited and pointed at Elmo. Elmo is his favorite character of all shows!

Then he started clapping!

Then he smiled at everyone to say thank you.

The Elmo sings Alphabet songs and Matt loves it! Thank you for the gift!

Just some cute pictures..

It is so sweet when Matt gives his daddy a kiss!

So cute!

I made some cinnamon rolls for everyone. Matt wasn't feeling too well that day, sleeping all day, then woke up when Sean was eating cinnamon rolls. He just stared at Sean and the cinnamon rolls.

I made some seafood soup one night..

Grandma and Matthew. Matt calls her Nana. It's so cute.

Our Weekend

This weekend was definitely crazy! If you've already read my food blog post, you know what I was up to this weekend. I made all kinds of treats for my visiting teachees and other friends and family. There were 10 plates full of goodies plus 8 little bags for Sean's co-workers. I made four different kinds of fudge, oreo cakes, two different kinds of truffles (cookie dough and Sean's mom's secret recipe), and brownies topped with creamy cookie dough.

Everything was yum. We didn't really save any for us, thank goodness. It took us about 6 hours to finish everything and we had started it late so we were up til 2 am. Sean dipped the truffles but we didn't have a lot of dipping chocolate so some of the truffles turned out ugly but who cares, right? They still tasted heavenly. :) We delivered those plates last night. It was really fun. I liked doing it and will do it again next Christmas, for sure!

I finally got all the shopping done! I got Sean something that he's been begging for. He knows what I got... I know, it's lame. But none of us like secrets very much so we just got stuff that we really wanted so there won't be any big surprises. We got Matt a couple of outfits and a toy that he loves.

Let me entertain you a little with some pictures of Matthew trying on different hats. He normally doesn't like hats but he's opening up to them a little bit. I want to get him a hat and gloves but he wouldn't keep them on so I'm hoping he will start liking hats more so I can get them. They are so cute!

This is a Santa hat from last year. It still fits!

He's a silly Santa. :)

This hat is from Cattlemen's, a steak restaurant in town. They give away these hats to people on their birthdays. We've got like three of them at home. One day, Matt decided to put it on. It was cute because he was wearing a overall and he looked like a little farm boy.

Seriously, he poses for pictures now and I thought this was just way funny and cute.

We got him a haircut on Saturday. So this was his third time getting a haircut. He was fine the last two times but whoa, this time, it was the worst nightmare! He cried and cried. He moved like a little wiggly worm the whole time. Amazing Barber Bill, however, managed to give him a haircut, a GREAT haircut, I must say. We gave him a good tip. :) I love Matt's haircut. He looks so cute in short hair. He looks good in long hair, too, but when his hair is short, he looks much like a boy, rather than a baby. My baby is growing up - way too fast!! And he's going to be a teenager, then a missionary, then a husband and a father.... oh boy! Can he just stay a little baby like he is right now forever??? :)

Elf Yourself Video

Every year, I make this super cheesy elf video of our family around Christmas. I love it. It's really corny and cheesy but I laugh every time I watch it. I posted the disco one so I will post something different on the blog. Maybe even two! The first one is a little creepy, I think. The mouths move when we sing and it's a little weird. he he Enjoy!

At our dinner table...

We were having dinner on Sunday night and I felt a sudden urge to take some pictures of Matt. I haven't been taking too many pictures of him lately (I'm lazy!) so I certainly made up for it that night! :)

Our Christmas Tree 2009 (& More)

Here is our 4 1/2 feet tall Christmas tree... Ta-da!

We'll be going down to Pismo Beach to celebrate Christmas for two weeks so we decorated our little Christmas tree that Sean's parent gave us a while ago. It's little but certainly cute. We had fun decorating it with little ornaments that we got over the past three years. A lot of them are Matt's but they are tiny and cute. I'm very satisfied with our tree this year. We don't have a lot of presents yet. So we put Christmas teddy bears and toys under the tree. Last night, I went shopping at Walmart and got little fun things for Matt. So now they are under the tree, too.

Matt loves the Christmas tree. At first, he was trying to grab all the ornaments but after a lot of talking and mean "NO!"s, he doesn't grab them anymore. Oh and about the tie he is wearing... he won't take it off. He got mad at me when I tried to take it off so he wore it all night until he had to go to sleep.

He likes to wear our shoes. One night, he got Sean's sandals (two different ones) and put them on. He was so proud.

Still wearing the sandals. He walked everywhere in those.

A big smile!!

I think this picture is so cute and funny!

Whoa! Too excited!

My cutie pie.

Video: Matt knows his body parts!

I've been teaching Matt his body parts lately and he seems to understand well. How he shows me where certain body parts are is really funny. The reason why he goes "na-na-na" pointing at his nose with his index finger is because of this Korean game that I taught him a long time ago. You say "ko-ko-ko (nose in Korean)" repeatedly while pointing at it with an index finger and then say either eye or mouth or ear. So since then whenever I ask him where his nose is, he has to go "no-no-no (which means nose in his language)" It's really cute. This video is really fun and cute, definitely something I will love to watch again when Matt's a little bigger.

This Face

Dear moms with 2+ little kids,

I just wanted to write a quick note and say I admire you so much. I have one little boy and everyone says he's a little angel. Well, yes, he's an angel, I know, when he's asleep or when he's watching Elmo or Aladdin. :) I just don't know how anyone can take care two or more little kids at the same time. It's such hard work sometimes, although there are some rewards you see in the end of the day when they remind you to pray as a family and give you a kiss and a hug so tight before bed.

Matt is such a character. He does a lot of funny and random things. He throws tantrums too, of course. And it is really annoying. But when I see this face, my heart just melts and I can't help but laugh and love him.

Mommy loves you, Matt, even though you always call me "daddy"

Our Thanksgiving 2009

We had our Thanksgiving with Sean's family. It was fun to be able to get together with them and eat lots of delicious food and feel sick!! I was in charge of making breakfast (pumpkin pancakes) and dinner rolls. Sean made his famous green beans side dish. We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, salad, and tons of others things as well. Everything was yummy.

Sean and I are thankful for a lot of things. I know I complain sometimes about different things but really, I am grateful for a lot of things too. First of all, I'm grateful for my family. I'm so grateful that my Sean and Matthew are healthy and happy. My life wouldn't be complete without these two guys. I love them so much. Second, I'm grateful that Sean has a job. Yes, we need and want a higher paying job but like everyone says, it's great that we have a job that helps us pay bills and take care of our little guy. I'm also grateful for our apartment, friends, internet, clothes, other family members, food, etc... And of course, I am grateful for Jesus Christ and his love for me and my family. I am so grateful for His guidance and the gospel that He gave us to help us become more like Him.

So I should have taken more pictures of the people that were at the Thanksgiving dinner but I was too busy taking pictures of the food.... Here are some of the food we ate.
I'm not a big turkey eater but it sure looks beautiful!

You gotta have some jello on Thanksgiving! Especially if you're LDS. :)

This is Sean's famous Green Beans side dish. Yummmy!!

Jodi, Scott and Brandon

All Matt ate though was three rolls.

After dinner, we went to see the new Twilight movie, New Moon. I've read all the Twilight books and some of you know that I'm not a huge fan of them. But I wanted to see the movie anyway. And I was actually impressed. The movie was definitely entertaining and good. There were some boring parts but still, I thought it was better than the book. (Sorry Stephenie Meyer.)

But we still had to walk out of the movie.... not because I didn't like it but because Matt decided to sing for everyone in the theater. He was quiet but a guy that was sitting in front of us glared back at us and said "Take him out!" (WHAT A JERK!!!!!) But we were taking him out already anyway but he just had to hurt people's feelings by being a jerk. Sean took Matt out but I didn't want to finish the movie without him. Watching movies is so much more fun with Seanie. So I followed him out a few minutes later. But we got our money back so we might go back and see the rest. Oh and yes, Jacob is pretty hot. :)

So that was our Thanksgiving! It was great. I am looking forward to Christmas now. We're not sure what we are doing but will see. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
