Sean and I got Matt a lot of books since Matt loves books. We love Dr. Seuss' books. I think we might enjoy those books more than Matt does. They are just so funny. He got little cars and some cool toys that make different sounds. But I think his favorite gift was a manderine orange that he got in his stocking. He played with it for a good while until he took a bite of it. I had to take it away from him because he likes to eat the peel.

Matthew's First Christmas Gifts
There are some pictures of Matthew with his first Christmas gifts. He got lots of books and little toys. The Humpty Dumpty you see is what Matthew's great grandma made for him. Isn't it the cutest? She is an incredible seamstress! She makes beautiful quilts, pillowtops, blankets, and apparently stuffed dolls. I look forward to her hand made gifts every year. When we told her that I was pregnant with Matt, she gave us a beautiful baby quilt for Matt as well. I think we have about 5-6 queen size quilts from her. They are all so beautiful. You can't really put a price on these gifts. I think Matt will cherish the Humpty Dumpty as well.

Merry Jolly Christmas!
Aunt BJ and the boys made a little Christmas scene using goodies. It turned out very cute! Maybe next year Matt will join in and help out a little.

At Mimi's, Matt had a nice dinner with us. Then he got full and fussy, then all of sudden he fell asleep on Sean's lap. It was really cute. I think that was the first time he fell asleep like that without being breastfed in a long time.
Do you ever wonder what babies dream about?

What Christ means to me...
Christmas is probably my favorite time of the year. I love all the Christmas carols and saying "Merry Christmas" to everyone. I loved buying gifts for Sean and Matt for Christmas this year. I know Christmas isn't about gifts but trying to figure out what they will like and what their reactions would be like was a lot of fun. More than anything though, my favorite part of Christmas this year was our little Family Home Evening on Christmas eve. Sean and I came home early from a family dinner at Mimi's Cafe to have our own FHE. We invited Sean's parents to join us, too. We sat down and read from Luke 2 and watched "The Nativity" together. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and His everlasting love for every one of us. Sean made an interesting comment about the movie that I never thought of before. He said it is interesting how Jesus was born among the poor whereas the rich people had to travel far to see and worship Him. His birth is an humbling event for everyone, for the poor, for the rich. I hope I don't have to travel too far to become to know Him. It is sad that many people are forgetting what Christmas is really about. Many people now write X-mas instead of Christ-mas. They want to get rid of anything that emphasizes Christ. There was a park near Pismo Beach and it was called "Christmas Park" but because the name of the park contained "Christ" there was a big lawsuit and they changed the name of the park to something else. Jesus Christ means so much to me. He changed my life. I am thankful for His love for me and my family. I pray that He will show His love and mercy to you. Just look around and see what you have. What you have is a blessing. You just have to allow yourself to recognize it as a blessing.

Meet our Santa's little helper!
I know, I got too excited about Matthew's first Christmas. I went and bought a little Santa outfit for Matt. He looks so cute in it. I love it. I took some pictures for you to see. How cute is he? MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Matt was trying to put on his shoe all by himself. He's a big boy.
Merry Christmas from Matthew

Matthew trying to stand up.
Matthew had his hat on for a while then took it off and that's what his hair looked like. Sweet, huh?
We went to Aunt BJ's one night for dinner. Matthew posing for the camera.
Aunt BJ and Matthew. They get along quite well. :)
Aunt BJ's Christmas decoration.
Aunt BJ gave Matthew this bear for Christmas and it matched with Matt's outfit so we took some pictures. Personally, I think they turned out very good.
Ho, ho, ho!
