February Update

Sean had an interview at Sutter for an analyst position. The interview went well and all but turns out Sutter has a hiring freeze right now. He recieved an email from someone who is working with the person that interviewed him and she told Sean not to give up yet. So we are still hoping and hoping. Oh the money... Wouldn't it be great not to worry about paying rent and bills??

Matt gives kisses. He understands "Where" so whenever I say "Where's -----", he responds by pointing. He also understands "Popo" which means "Kiss" in Korean. He makes a lot of different sounds. Before, he only used to say "A-gu", "A-bu", "Dada", "Mama", "Appa", and "Umma". And now he has been saying a lot of "I-do"s, "I-see"s, "That's", "Je-us", "Na-na", etc. It is fun to hear him talk - he certainly thinks he can talk. The boy talks all day! Matt has been sleeping in the crib in his room for about a month now! I am so proud! He used to do it really good until we went on our trip to Korea but after the trip, he hated his crib more than anything. So he slept in our room for about two months before we finally decided that he belonged in his own room. It was hard first three nights but now he falls asleep on his own within five minutes after we put him in his bed. So that is really good news. With a better sleeping habit and pattern, he seems much happier during the day. But the problem is that he doesn't want to nap unless I feed him or hold him. So I guess he has to give me some challenges. Now that he sleeps good at night, he won't sleep during the day!! Before, he napped twice or three times no problem. Ahh... the beauty of motherhood.

As for me.... Well, I had some kind of a flu yesterday. I was sick all day with a fever of 102.1 degrees. I felt a little better in the afternoon but then I got really sick again after dinner. I wasn't throwing up or anything. I had sore, sore, sore muscles and it felt like every joint of my body was going to break. It wasn't a good feeling. I had NO strength to take care of Matt so I finally texted Sean and asked him to come home early to take care of Matt. Of course, Sean came home and took care of both of us.

Sean and I have been losing some weight. Hooray!! Since January, we have lost about 15 lbs. I am happy with the result - not satisfied yet though. I have been going to the gym at least 4 times a week. I hate exercising. I really do. But I still go because I know I want to be healthy and not have a lot of health complications when I get older. I have been feeling a lot better since I started exercising. I am going to keep going. I have many more pounds to lose. So cheer me up!

Some Old Pictures that you've probably never seen..

I found these ancient photos on Sean's parents' jump drive today -Hooray! I LOVE finding old photos I haven't seen in years!! - and thought I'd post some of them. You've probably never seen these photos.

I think these photos were taken during Christmas holiday shortly after Sean and I got married. The other two are Jon and his ex - before Jon went back to his mission. Jon's getting married to a beautiful girl in UT in May. We are going to his wedding and are so excited for him!

The following photos were taken by the ocean near Pismo. So beautiful! We weren't married at the time. I found some cute pictures of us.

A Date Without Matthew

Sean and I finally went out on a date, just the two of us, without Matthew for the first time since Matt was born! It was so much fun. Of course, I was worried a little bit at first because I was never really away from Matt for more than 15 minutes. But I really enjoyed the date with Sean. Jodi and Scott watched Matt and we went and saw "Get Smart" which is a really good movie by the way. We laughed and laughed and laughed... It was really funny! Well, we think that we want to go on more dates!

Graduation

Say cheese!!! One of the waitresses at the restaurant took this picture for us. She said she was majoring in Photography. Does this photo look professional at all? I am not so sure about it...

Craigo's is one of Sean's favorite restaurants in Rexburg, Idaho. It used to be owned by Brother Jan Meinzer who passed away on a plane crash in 2006. Brother Meinzer used to be in Sean's old ward in Granite Bay. Craigo's started out as a small restaurant right by the campus but they extended to a bigger sit-down restaurant by Walmart. Anyway, we all went to Craigo's after convocation to celebrate our graduation. The food was great. We all had buffet. They have the best spaghetti and pizza!! We will miss the place.

Rexburg Temple is beautiful!!! President Hinckley announced that there will be a temple in Rexburg right by BYU-Idaho campus several years ago and now the temple was dedicated in February 2008. Dang, Sean and I were already gone by then. So we missed the open house and dedication. We are a little disappointed but hopefully we can go back to Rexburg someday so we can go in to the temple. I bet it's gorgeous in there. The temple is located by Ricks building. Since I was a Sociology major, I practically lived in the Ricks building where I could see the temple. I could always feel the Spirit so strongly. I am so grateful that I was able to attend such a great school where I could feel the presence of the Lord all the time.

Sean's mom was so impressed with the Christmas lights in downtown Rexburg. They have lights on every tree in downtown. It is even more beautiful when everything is white because of the snow. Then we came to California and it was really hard to find any lights here so we were a little disappointed. We are going to miss the lights and the snow in Rexburg during Christmas seasons.

Sean's mom and Sean were busy taking pictures with professors so I was just resting on a bench in the Taylor building. I was abouy 8 and a half months pregnant with Matt. Wow, it felt soo good to sit down and rest after such a long day.

Sean and Brother Kush; Sean was in favor of Brother Kusch until the last semester. So what happened there? Don't know! But the professor in the right picture is Brother Shiley and Sean just loved him!

At Convocation at the Taylor Chapel

Yay, we did it!!! We are proud graduates now!

There were about 1000 graduates. President Kim B. Clark spoke at the commencement. It was great and spiritual! We love him. He was a great president!

Sook and Sean at Graduation Luncheon (12/14/07)

Sean and Steve Whitfield; the manager over the Galley. Steve is our favorite person at the Galley. He loved us too. He took our engagement pictures that we sent out too. He's done so much for us ever since we started working at the Galley.

Our First Anniversary (Our Trip to SLC)

Yay, Sean and I have been married for a year already!! Wow, time just flies! For our first anniversary, we went to Salt Lake City, Utah to celebrate. We stayed at Hilton's for a couple days. The hotel was at a walking distance from the temple square, about two blocks away. We enjoyed walking over to the temple square although I got a little tired after a while. The first night we were there, we went to "the roof". It is a nice buffet restaurant where you can overlook the Salt Lake temple. The food was delicious, I was so impressed! I probably gained a few pounds after I ate there. After dinner, we went to the visitors center and had a nice presentation about eternal families. Even though I had seen the presentation over and over again on my mission, wait, I took people on the presentation probably more than 100 times, but I still cried. It was great. I thought about Matthew and how grateful I was to have him in our family.

The next day, we went down to Orem area and went to this Brazillian restaurant that everyone was talking about. Wow, I was really impressed. I wish they had something like that here in Roseville. Next time we go to Utah, we are definitely going over there again. They have about 30 different kinds of grilled meat and fish that we can eat and a beautiful salad bar. I loved everything there and it was pretty cheap too. After that, we went to American Fork to go to Xango which is a dinausaur museum. It was fun.

Our first anniversary was wonderful. Sean and I are still happily married and still very excited to spend the rest of our lives together.
