The Priesthood Blessing

Matt went in for 4 month check-up the other day. He now weighs 17 lbs 6 oz and measures 27 inches. He's at around 66 percentile. He got those immunization shots and amazingly enough, he didn't cry at all. I was pretty amazed by this. He's a pretty strong boy.
Well, he did get sick though. He had a fever of 101.4 degrees for about a day and a half. We gave him tylenols but didn't really help. He was really fussy last night. He couldn't sleep too well so I woke Sean up and asked him if he would give Matt a blessing. I sat Matt up in our bed and Sean put his hands on him and gave him a beautiful blessing. It was incredible. I choked up because I was so grateful to have the priesthood in our home. After about 10 minutes he received his blessing, Matt finally fell asleep in my arms and never woke up until about 5 a.m. to eat. His fever was also gone by this morning. I feel so blessed to be married to a worthy priesthood holder.

Matt's New Passport

Matt just got his very first passport in the mail today. The passport looks pretty fansy. There are cool pictures and everything. It's weird to think that Matt's American and I'm not. I don't know. I just felt weird when I saw the passport today. But we are all getting pretty excited about our first trip outside the United States together! Only two and a half months to go! Hooray!

Matt's New Obsessions....

Matt's new obsession is to crumple paper. He loves being able to use his fingers and hands to grab or destroy things. He loves paper. We hand him over a piece of paper and that keeps him entertained for at least about 10 minutes. :)

As many of you know, we are going to Korea this coming October so we were trying to get a good picture of Matt for his very first passport... Since we needed a sold white background, we decided to take it in front of our white fridge. Sean was holding him and I tried my best to get a good picture for Matt's passport... Well... you will see the winner picture (pretty descent I think) below and that's like 15th shot, I think. So I also attached some of the pictures that could have gone on Matt's passport but that would have been so cruel. (It would have been hilarious though)

This is the winner picture!!! (Up)

And yet there are many photos that could have won... (Below)

Matt has discovered his tougue!! Ever since two of his bottom teeth started to come out, he started sticking out his tongue. I find it so adorable. I love seeing his little tongue so I took some pictures of it.

Sean likes to hold Matt's hand to help him stand. Matt loves to stand or sit up like a big boy... Matt's a strong baby boy for his age, we think. He's pretty good, don't you think?

When Sean came home from work, Matt was just so excited to see him. He started smiling really big so I decided to take some pictures... He has the most lovable smile ever.

A New Discovery

I was just trying to massage Matt's gum today and found that a tooth is coming out of his bottom gum. Wow! I thought... ALREADY?? He's just growing so fast. I lucked out though that Matt hasn't been super fussy since he started teething. He likes to put things in his mouth - especially his fingers and bite them but other than that, he's been a wonderful boy. It is scary how fast Matt's growing. Sometimes I am really excited to see him grow big but at the same time, I want him to stay a baby boy. I am sure every mother feels that way one time or another. Anyway, I am excited to see that tooth in the near future.

FAMILY

FOURTH OF JULY

Part I: On the way to Pismo Beach, CA (July 3rd, 2008)
-Sean came home a little bit early from work so we were able to head to Pismo at around 4 p.m. We took several stops on our way so that I could feed Matt. I think these pictures were taken after he was fed so he was in a good mood.

Part II: Pismo Beach (July 4th, 2008)
-We started our day a little early. We dressed Matt up in his cute fourth of july outfit that we got at Baby Gap outlet (they were only around 8 bucks total). He sure looked like a little patriot that day. We took him to a park nearby and put him on a little swing. He fit pretty good in it too so we were surprised.

Matt enjoyed swinging for a little while.

Part III: Pismo Beach (July 5th, 2008)
-We got some family photos taken at the beach but it was all smoky anf foggy so the pictures didn't turn out the way we wanted them to. But we don't have too many family photos so we are satisfied with these.

Part IV: Bakersfield (July 6th, 2008)
- We went to Bakersfield to see Sean's grandparents. It was their first time seeing Matthew in person so it was fun. Matthew loves them so much, in almost every picture with them, he is smiling big. It was nice to see them together.
