Our Thanksgiving 2009

We had our Thanksgiving with Sean's family. It was fun to be able to get together with them and eat lots of delicious food and feel sick!! I was in charge of making breakfast (pumpkin pancakes) and dinner rolls. Sean made his famous green beans side dish. We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, salad, and tons of others things as well. Everything was yummy.

Sean and I are thankful for a lot of things. I know I complain sometimes about different things but really, I am grateful for a lot of things too. First of all, I'm grateful for my family. I'm so grateful that my Sean and Matthew are healthy and happy. My life wouldn't be complete without these two guys. I love them so much. Second, I'm grateful that Sean has a job. Yes, we need and want a higher paying job but like everyone says, it's great that we have a job that helps us pay bills and take care of our little guy. I'm also grateful for our apartment, friends, internet, clothes, other family members, food, etc... And of course, I am grateful for Jesus Christ and his love for me and my family. I am so grateful for His guidance and the gospel that He gave us to help us become more like Him.

So I should have taken more pictures of the people that were at the Thanksgiving dinner but I was too busy taking pictures of the food.... Here are some of the food we ate.
I'm not a big turkey eater but it sure looks beautiful!

You gotta have some jello on Thanksgiving! Especially if you're LDS. :)

This is Sean's famous Green Beans side dish. Yummmy!!

All Matt ate though was three rolls.

After dinner, we went to see the new Twilight movie, New Moon. I've read all the Twilight books and some of you know that I'm not a huge fan of them. But I wanted to see the movie anyway. And I was actually impressed. The movie was definitely entertaining and good. There were some boring parts but still, I thought it was better than the book. (Sorry Stephenie Meyer.)

But we still had to walk out of the movie.... not because I didn't like it but because Matt decided to sing for everyone in the theater. He was quiet but a guy that was sitting in front of us glared back at us and said "Take him out!" (WHAT A JERK!!!!!) But we were taking him out already anyway but he just had to hurt people's feelings by being a jerk. Sean took Matt out but I didn't want to finish the movie without him. Watching movies is so much more fun with Seanie. So I followed him out a few minutes later. But we got our money back so we might go back and see the rest. Oh and yes, Jacob is pretty hot. :)

So that was our Thanksgiving! It was great. I am looking forward to Christmas now. We're not sure what we are doing but will see. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just took some pictures of Matt yesterday when he was goofing around and posing for pictures... Unfortunately he didn't like the turkey hat that he got in nursery the other day so I wasn't able to get good pictures of him in the hat... but the one below was the best I got.... Just wanted to say "Happy Thanksgiving everyone!"

Isn't the hat so cute though?

That's Matt saying "Happy Thanksgiving!" :)

He has the funniest facial expression sometimes.

I love his smile.

Wrestling

Sean's parents are in town for Thanksgiving. So we hung out with Sean's family a lot during the weekend. Matthew loves his cousins, especially the two little ones, Alex and Nathan. They play with Matthew all the time. While Sean and I were out for our anniversary last Wednesday night, Alex and Nathan took good care of Matthew for hours! They put Matthew in a box and drew license numbers and headlights on the box - and I guess Matt just loved it! He stayed in the box for about an hour while his cousins pushed the box around the house. :) So whenever we go over to his cousins, he gets so excited. Last night, he was having fun with his cousins. Mostly they wrestled. Yup, they sure are boys.

Starting to play...

When Alex pretended to be dead, Matt did the same thing. :)

Just walking away from the two wrestling boys...

Matthew was hugging Alex to wake him up. :)

Too cute :)

Isn't this the cutest picture ever?

The best cousins! :)

Alex pretended to be dead all night. :)

Two big boys giving two little ones horseback rides. I love it. :)

Matthew thought it was hilarious!

Alex survived this. :)

I'm busy talking on the phone with daddy

Sean always calls on his way home from work. I talk to him for about 5 minutes until I have to go to start getting dinner ready. And Matt reaches out for the phone, insisting to talk to daddy. So I hand him the phone and start cooking. We've repeated this for about 6 months now. Matt absoltely loves talking to daddy on the phone. So when he gets the phone from me, he usually walks over to the couch and sits there and just talk in his language. I have no idea what Sean says. (He probably asks some questions, then sings? I will have to ask him what he actually says when he's on the phone with Matt because they talk to each other for quite a while.) I have been meaning to videotape Matt talking to Sean on the phone but I still haven't gotten a chance to. But I managed to take this picture one day. Instead of going to the couch, he went and climbed the chair and stayed there for a long time. The thing that he is holding in his hand, that's my phone. And he remained the same position until Sean hung up. He laughs, talks, and sometimes sings "twinkle, twinkle, little star" It's really cute. I love this stage that Matt's in. I am going to miss it a lot!

I love wearing mommy's shoes

Matt must want to grow up fast because he has been trying to wear my and Sean's shoes lately. Whenever we are about to go out, we say "Go get your shoes, Matty!", and Matt always manages to find shoes, only shoes that belong to Sean or me. He grabs my flip flops, Sean's work shoes and sneakers. It is pretty funny. When I saw him wearing my shoes (he does this on his own) I just had to take pictures. He's growing up, isn't he?

Our Halloween

How was your Halloween? Ours was fantastic! We dressed Matty up as Dracula and Sean and I were his victims. It was fun. We took Matt to Jodi's neighborhood so that he could go trick-or-treating with his cousins. Matt had a lot of fun! He took a big bag and by the end of the night, he had to drag it because he got so much candy. There weren't a lot of kids out though, probably because the Halloween was on a Saturday. It would've been much more fun if there had been more kids out. Maybe next year...

Everyone at the door was very friendly and nice except this one guy... he didn't even open the door and yelled "We don't have any candy here" and turned off the lights.. It was sad. If you don't want to give out candy, turn the lights off or open the door and say it nicely instead of turning off the light on kids and yell at them!! But it was alright. The kids moved on fast anyway.

Matt only picked out ones with shiny wrappers. He wouldn't take any suckers. What a good boy! :) He loves kit kats! He also got some snickers and lots of different candy. We're saving some for Christmas. :)

Anyway, I hope you all had fun too!
