Good day

Aaron had a doctors appointment this morning for circumcision. I was nervous just like I was nervous when Matty got his done. I had Sean get into the procedures room since I just can't handle watching my babies go through pain and all. I stayed with Matt in an office room. When Sean and the doctor came back to the room, I was relieved to hear that Aaron didn't cry at all, only popped everywhere... haha Dr. Sorgea admitted that Aaron may be the mellowest and toughest baby she's ever seen. He really is! I mean, I always thought Matt was a mellow baby, but Aaron is even more mellow. I feel blessed. Everyone told us to wait until the second baby came along but well, our second is doing so well! :)
After the doctors visit, we went to a park nearby. Matt and Sean played a little soccer together and I watched them play. I loved the breeze and the sunshine. It was so good to be out after being stuck in the house for two weeks... but I think maybe I did too much cause my incision hurt so badly... more drugs for me!! But it was a great day!!

Kick it!!

I love that Sean has been able to take two weeks off and take care of me and Matthew. This morning, he took Matt to the library for a story time, then to the doctor's appointment, then to the field nearby our house to kick his new soccer ball. It was his first time playing with a soccer ball. He loved it!! Sean is planning to take him out again tomorrow. As soon as I feel better and am able to move around, Aaron and I will accompany them and watch them play. :) Watch out, future soccer players, Matt may one day kick your butt with his amazing soccer skills! lol!

Hugs & Folding

Matt started praying more on his own and I love listening to his prayers! This morning he offered a very simple but a beautiful prayer without any help from me or Sean. His prayer went like this -

"Dear Father, thankful food. Thankful baby Aaron, mommy, daddy, and Matt. Thankful HUGS. Name of Christ, Amen."

I know that Matt really is thankful for hugs. I have learned from Matt that hugs have magical powers to comfort, calm, and heal others. And I am grateful that I have a son who reminds me what a simple thing as a hug can do in our daily lives. When I am sad or hurt or happy, Matt always gives me a hug and a kiss and says "I love you, mommy." My eyes got teary when I saw him hug Aaron to comfort him when he was frowning. I understand why Christ advised us to "be like more like children, for such is the kingdom of God"

Now something weird and funny. Matt loves holding Aaron. It has become his daily ritual. As soon as he gets up in the morning, he asks us if he can hold Aaron. Today, though, he asked "Can I fold baby Aaron?" When we said, "You mean "hold" baby Aaron?" Then Matt got upset and yelled, "NO! I wanna FOLD baby Aaron!!" So I am not sure how he would "fold" baby Aaron but I am thinking I should probably never say yes to that although I would love to find out what he means by "folding" Aaron....

Funny Matty

At around 9 pm, realizing how late it was, Sean tried to get Matt ready for bed.

Sean: Hey, Matt, you need to go get ready to go night night.
Matt: I can't.
Sean: Why not?
Matt: Because. It's too late.

**

All of a sudden, Matt reached out and grabbed Aaron's foot really hard. When we were concerned that Matt might hurt Aaron, we asked Matt what he was doing.
Me and Sean: (frantically) What are you doung, Matty?!
Matt: I'm trying to smell Aaron's feet (sniff)

Do you see the resemblance?

When my mom saw the pictures of Aaron on facebook, she thought that I had reposted old pictures of Matt when he was a new born. They do look quite alike. I went through some old pictures of Matt and my goodness, Matt and Aaron could be twins! :) Which one is which??

The first one is Matthew shortly after he was born. The second one is Aaron. Don't they look a lot alike?? I love it! :)

Our New Addition to the Family

Just like the announcement said in the previous post, Aaron Jinu was born on April 14, 2011. I went into the birthing center for a c-section. I was nervous and anxious, I wasn't able to sleep much at all - I was just so tired! I was poked four different times just to get the right vein for an IV. They said I was so dehydrated that my veins were barely visible. Even the IV experts had a hard time with it. The anesthesia went well (though I was super nervous about it but it wasn't too bad), my body went numb, and they cut my belly open. Sean was by me the whole time holding my hand which was very comforting to me. When I heard our baby cry for the first time, I cried, too. Aaron weighed 7 lbs and 6 ounces and measured 19 1/2 inches long. He cried only for several seconds after he was born. They had to force him to cry to get all the stuff out of his lungs. Since then, he has only cried once or twice for only a couple of seconds. He is a very mellow baby. He eats well, poops well, sleeps well. I couldn't be happier. Matt is dealing with this change rather wonderfully. Matt always thought that he was getting a big, strong brother but as soon as he held Aaron in his arms, he realized that he was just the opposite of big and strong. He is very protective of Aaron and loves to hug and kiss him. It brought tears into my eyes when Matt gave Aaron a gentle hug and a kiss this morning without even being told. My two angels are the joy of my life! My belly still hurts a lot but I know I will be okay soon. I am grateful for my family and for the love that we share with each other. I can't wait to build an eternal family with baby Aaron.

Right after Aaron was born...
