Just around the house

How was your Thanksgiving? I hope you all had fun. We got to stay at our apartment as a little family and it was great. We cooked a lot of stuff, a smaller turkey, a pumpkin pie, an apple pie, yam, potatoes, rolls, etc. They were all yummy.

Matt has been smiling like a little angel lately. I LOVE his smile!! Especially his eye smile. He used to smile like that when he was six months old and now he's doing it again. We went to a restaurant the other day and he was smiling like that the whole time we were there. Everyone calls him a flirt. He loves ladies. And ladies adore him, of course.

Sean and I bought some cool toys for Matt for Christmas. We went to Costco and they had a lot of great stuff for really cheap!! Our plan is to buy a little Christmas tree this year! It is our third Christmas together and we haven't had a descent Christmas tree in our living room. So let's hope we'll find something this year. We're so excited for Matthew's first Christmas! I hope we get to build a good Christmas family tradition together. I love Christmas season because this time of the year makes me extra more grateful for what I have. One thing that I miss about Christmas back home or Idaho is the snow!! I really miss the snow. We might just have to go to Lake Tahoe one day to play in the snow all day. I think Matt will really like it too! :)

Did you all hear about the shooting in a Toys R Us store in Palm Desert, CA? Isn't that so crazy? Why would anyone go to a toystore (where there are lots of kids and parents) with a gun and shoot someone? It is so scary! Oh and in New York, how people ran over this one guy trying to get a good deal at Walmart. That's just messed up. I don't like how people turn so ugly over money.

Anyway, I have some pictures of Matthew. Enjoy!

Matt's obsession with laptops

Matthew loves our laptops! I've been on my laptop for a bit lately since I got into webdesigning a little bit. But whenever I am on my laptop, he tries to reach for the keyboards, trying to destroy them. I already lost the "escape" button though. Well, but Sean took a great photo of Matthew wearing a headphone set and his hand on a mouse. It's pretty cute, isn't it? :)

Um, yeah, the headphone's a little too big for Matty.

The Best Two Years!

Sean and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary today! Wow, time sure
goes by fast!! Today, my sister in law Jodi babysat Matthew while we
were having dinner at a nice, fancy Italian restaurant by the mall. It
was nice because they made us guests of honor and gave us a bunch of
free stuff!! They sat us at the only red table in the restaurant, by
the window where we could see pretty Christmas lights (yes, there are
Christmas trees and lights everywhere already! I think Christmas comes
earlier each year, don't you think? I think it's so that people would
start buying things earlier since we have such bad economy right now..
but who knows?) Alright, back to our anniversary... They gave us an
appitizer, a bottle of some kind of an Italian brand water, little bit
of walnut ravioli, and dessert! I know, we were so lucky!! The service
was great, too. We talked a lot about the past memories, about how we
met and when we started dating, etc... We had some good laughs talking
about it.

Well, let's see what we have accomplished together
for the past two years since we got married. We have graduated from
college with a B.S. degrees, moved out of Rexburg to come to Roseville,
have a beautiful baby boy together.... Well, the list goes on and on...
We have a lot more goals to achieve, of course, but I think that it's a
lot easier to achieve them when we are together. We support each
other's decisions. We respect each other. I have the greatest husband
ever! He's mellow, sweet, and pretty much the nicest person in the
world! I really do believe that. I don't know how I got so lucky. I am
so grateful for him and his love for me. I love him very much too. I
couldn't live without him.

Our love is growing stronger day by
day. Who says that it's over once you're married? My love for Sean is
even stronger and deeper today than it was 2 years ago. I love our son,
Matthew. What a blessing he has been in our lives. We love him dearly.

Well, Happy 2 year Anniversary, Sean!! I love you!!!

UPDATE

Trying to stand

cimg0006

Well... almost! But he's getting better at it each day! I've been so busy trying to keep up with him crawling everywhere now. He's so curious, too. He loves playing with all the buttons on our surround sound system. He hasn't figured out how to get to all of our DVDs yet but that is like my biggest fear, that one day, Matt will find all of our DVDs inside of our entertainment center and break all of them somehow. I don't know, it costed us quite a bit of money to get those DVDs... But so far, he hasn't gotten any serious injury yet by crawling everywhere.

He also started eating a lot more solid food recently. He never really liked any food other than breastmilk so I was getting worried. But lately, he's been eating a lot better. Today, he ate a little bit of chocolate muffin from Costco (which is like the best kind of chocoloate muffin in the world!), a cube of fried potato, a little bit of mashed banana, and water! Wow... he tried a lot of different kinds of food. But he opens his mouth big for new food everyday. So life has been so much easier for me since I don't have to battle with him to get him to eat something. He's getting taller and bigger! He's still not chubby like he used to be when he was born. But he's a healthy boy.

As for Sean, he's still working for Sutter in Sacramento. He likes it a lot but his hope is to work for a marketing department of some kind of an electronic company. He still plans to go to graduate school for MBA program. He doesn't know where but he's looking. I want to go to grad school someday too. But really, it's hard to tell when it's going to be with a baby and the plan to have more kids in the next five years or so. So who knows what's going to happen?

Well, that's pretty much what's happening with the Buntons right now. We're both trying to build our own website. It's fun! I love it. I am not exceptional or anything but I'm getting better at it. I can't wait to be done with setting the whole thing up on line! I will let you know when I do!

Thanksgiving is coming! We're staying here. We decided that we would have a small Thanksgiving dinner as a family. It should be fun. We are having chicken instead of turkey. I don't like turkey at all. So Sean was kind enough to go with chicken this year. We got tiny chicken though. If you have a good recipe for stuffing or anything like that, let me know. Cause I love stuffing!!!

YES on PROP 8

Many church members have been standing out in the street with Yes on Prop 8 signs up for the past two to three weeks. Yesterday it was raining pretty hard and all those members were soaked wet, still waving those signs cheerfully. God bless them! When we went trick-or-treating, a lot of households had the same sign up on their windows and lawns. It is good to know that there are many people who are pro-8. I guess on radio, there was a mother who turned lesbian while she was married to a man. She wanted to call her daughter to see if she was voting No on prop 8. When the host of the radio show faked to be doing a survey and asked the daughter what her status on prop 8 was, the daughter said she was voting yes. The mom started crying and asked the daughter why she hated her and her girlfriend. The daughter said that she loved her mom and the mom's girlfriend, but she didn't want any other children go through what she went through as a kid in school. Before her mother turned lesbian, she was just a regular kid with mom and dad, but after her mother left her father to live with another woman, she became the girl with two moms. Gay and lesbian marriage can really hurt children emotionally. There are many public schools that are teaching our children that same-sex marriage or courtship is totally okay. There was a lesbian teacher who took her whole class on a field trip to her wedding at a city hall. She kissed her partner in front of the whole class. Do you want to protect your children from being exposed to these kinds of things? I don't hate gay and lesbians. I just don't want my kids to grow up thinking that traditional marriage doesn't matter.
