Matt says "hat" and puts it on by himself. He's never liked hats before and now finally, he will put it on and pose for pictures. What a good boy. :)

It's Reading Time!!
Matthew LOVES reading. We always check out about 20 books at a time and read them over and over again for 2-3 weeks. Matt always brings us books to read. He loves colorful books, or funny ones. Right now, he loves "I Stink" which is about a garbage truck. It is pretty funny. Sean was reading a book to Matt and Matt folded his arms and listened quietly. It was so cute so I had to take some pictures.
How adorable is that??? Do you see how his arms are folded so tightly?
Gotta be revernt during reading time. :)

It was a nice day out.
The weather was so nice so I took Matthew out to the park nearby. He was having so much fun running around, going down the slides, and swinging. I really need to take him to the park more often. Now that it's not raining as much, I should! :)

He actually rocks the car for about 10 seconds before he starts whining.
Matt's 2nd Birthday!!
Matt had his second birthday on Sunday. He is a big boy!! We put him in the Korean outfit that his grandma got for him when we went to Korea back in 2008. It still fits him perfectly! :) Unfortunately, I totally forgot to take pictures of him in the outfit... We had Matt's favorite food for dinner, which is pizza, then went to Jodi's to eat cake. When we sang "Happy Birthday" for Matt, he got really shy and just kept on smiling shyly. It was really cute... Here are some pictures of Matthew..

Just some pictures of Matt
Matthew doesn't eat much still or he's picky with certain types of food... but he loved the sweet potatoes that I made.
Matt also likes to help me out in the kitchen. He got the apron from his great grandma and I think it's so adorable!
Whenever we try to change his poopy diaper, he either brings a diaper and wipes to us and lie down in front of us, or hides under his high chair. :)

The Complaint Letter
I was really upset today because of Elmo's World. Matthew is such a huge fan of Elmo's World. Most of the time, the show is very educational and useful. But not today... The topic of the program was "Family" and they showed a homosexual couple with their adopted kid. I was upset because I was not ready for that. I cannot believe that so many kids will watch it and they will wonder what that is all about. I wrote a complaint letter. I know they won't care but I had to voice my opinion. I mean, if I don't say anything about it directly to them, I don't deserve to sit and just complain about it. Here's the letter I wrote. If you would like to voice your opinion also, please let them know. It is the only way to express our concerns and let them know that there are many parents who do not appreciate them trying to convince our kids of their political stand.

Hello. We are fans of Elmo's World on Sesame Street. My 2-year-old boy absolutely LOVES Elmo. He calls him "Mammo" and gets really happy whenever I turn on "Elmo's World". It is a very good and educational program and thank you for that.
However, today's Elmo's World disappointed me very much. I was actually very shocked and upset about it. Today's topic was "family" and I was not prepared to see a homosexual couple with an adopted kid. I understand that homosexuality is now part of our society and is being widely accepted by many people. However, I find it very controversial for you to broadcast about them to our little children, without any warning to us parents. If I had known you would talk about homosexual couples so openly on children's show, I would not have allowed my son to watch today's episode. Such political or sensitive issues should have been left out of the show.
I believe that discussing homosexuality and marriage between two same-sex individuals in schools is strictly forbidden in schools around here, unless there is a parental consent. I do not want the public broadcast system to step out and try to convince our kids that gay couples are "families" as many people, especially religious people like us disagree. I see why you thought it may be appropriate to show children the dynamics of families but I did not appreciate you trying to define what a "family" is in your own way. As you might already know, children are vulnerable and they will accept whatever they see or hear as truth. As there are many parents trying to protect their children from being exposed to these sensitive issues too early, you should have been more sensitive and careful about bringing up this type of issue.
This show should help children learn and grow. Please stay away from political issues and try to show your stand on them. It is very unprofessional.

Cute little things
Seriously, you'd think I'd be bored staying at home with Matthew all day but that's not true. Matthew makes me laugh all day. Oh he makes me frustrated, too, yes. But he's hilarious and I thought I'd write down some of the things he does to keep me entertained.
First, whenerver we do Pilates, he tries to do all the moves. It is so funny. I really need to videotape it sometime. He does spinal roll down, bends knees for the chair pose, and does sit-ups too. ha ha It is really cute.
He loves Elmo. He calls him "Ma-mmo" And whenever Elmo says good-bye, Matt says "Dye, Ma-mmo" which means "Bye, Elmo". He also sings "Elmo's World" with Elmo and it is so cute. He loves to sing. He sings to Monk's theme song, too.
He loves doing "Ring around the rosie". Whenever we sing the song, he immediately stands up and grabs my hand. When we fall down, he rolls his eyes while they are closed, then sticks out his tongue as if he's dead or something. It's so funny. He does a lot of funny, cute things now. I don't even know where he got the tongue thing.
He says "gaga" when he wants milk, which is a little strange because he used to say "U-ka" for milk but all of sudden it's "gaga". Gaga? Where did he get that? I don't get it.
He says "Bless you" whenever someone sneezes, even when he sneezes. Oh and whenever someone coughs, he pats her/his back gently. I think he learned that from me because I do that when he coughs. It's fascinating how fast little ones learn from other people. That's why I need to be extra careful of what I do and say in front of him. Scary. :)
