"Heavenly Father, are you really there? And do you hear and answer every child's prayer?" So Matt has started praying a lot more often lately. It is the sweetest thing ever. He prays before every meal and when he's about to snack, he always folds his arms and closes his eyes to say a prayer. He actually says something that can't really be understood by adults and says "eh" which probably means "Amen". It's so cute that I had to videotape his prayer to share with you all. Every night, I sing him to sleep. I sing a lot of Korean songs, kids songs, and children's hymns, too. Some nights he won't fall asleep easily and I find out it's because we had forgotten to pray. I only know this because he would fold his arms and closes his eyes and makes this "Che-che" sound in the middle of a song. So we say a quick prayer and he falls asleep. It's really the cutest thing ever! Oh I love being able to teach him about Jesus and the gospel. As a child, I didn't have that. So I love that my son reminds me to pray before bed every night.

If you want a free meal, you gotta dress up like a ghost
One night, we went to a local restaurant "Cattlemen's" for a birthday dinner. If you're wondering why Matt's looking like a little baby ghost, it's because he's wearing a 8-year-old's T-shirt. If kids wear Cattlemen's T-shirt, they get a free meal. Good deal, right? Jodi kindly gave it to us for Matthew so he got a free kids meal. He got fries and crispy chicken and he ate none of it. Okay, maybe like 4 or 5 fries but he didn't even touch the chicken. Oh well, at least it was free! He had more fun playing with his cousins at the restaurant.

He's a baby no more
My little Matthew is growing up. He's not a baby anymore. He's now a "toddler". He walks and runs around, gets mad at me if I don't turn on his favorite show, laughs at the silliest things, climbs on to our dining table, tries to destroy our laptops, etc.... The only thing that made him a little baby was me nursing him. I nursed him for a while. I started nursing him about twice a day for his nap and for his night sleep about three months ago. But I just didn't want to give it up yet. I guess I wasn't ready to stop it all together. I don't know but it was way hard for me to stop nursing him. He didn't want to give it up, either. He didn't sleep unless I nursed him and this pattern was getting out of my hand. So I decided that it was time to stop. He's 18 months old now and I knew he could do it. So I got a hot chili sauce and put a little bit of it on my nipple (just one) and tried to nurse Matthew. Well, he tasted it and had the disgusted look on his face and took a bottle instead. Ever since, he hasn't wanted breastmilk. Hooray! :) He struggled a couple of days going to sleep on his own but he's doing much better now. He just fell asleep on his own without being nursed. What a big boy! I'm so excited and sad at the same time. I guess it's kind of weird to think that my baby boy doesn't need my milk to function. I don't know. It's hard to explain but I'm sure you mommies know what I'm talking about. So yeah, the first time is always hard. Maybe I'll have no problem with the second baby. Who knows?! But I did it and I'm proud of it.

Some funny pictures of Matt
Outdoor Fun!!
I have so many pictures that I haven't yet posted on this blog... So I decided to post this entry to catch up with all these great pictures that I wanted to share with you. This summer has been a lot of fun. We did a lot of fun stuff. We went to Bodega Bay for one afternoon with Jodi and Scott's family. Also we went down to Pismo Beach to visit nana and papa. We had a blast!! We love going to the beach. It was a little chilly to go into the water so we just walked down the pier one night and watched the beautiful sunset. Matthew LOVED walking on the pier, especially looking down through cracks of the wood panels.
Walking down the pier with papa and nana. Sometimes he wanted to run off without holding anyone's hand.
With daddy and nana
One of my favorite things to do at Pismo is going to the beach at night and having a bonfire. It just makes me feel so peaceful in my heart. I loved watching Matthew play with sand and the toys. He was a bit sandy afterward, thogh.

He loves to play with sand!
Everyone enjoying the fire and each other's company.
One morning, we took Matthew to a local farm where they have cows, ponies, lots of goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, etc.... So Matt's not really into animals yet. We don't know why. He's actually scared of them. He doesn't like to feed them or anything... I thought all kids loved animal... but well, he doesn't. But he started warming up to the animal we saw as time went by. He was amazed by a cow with a crazy, long tongue. He also liked pigs.

There were different types of grape vines along the gazebo. They had Korean grapes, too. Mmm.... We all loved it. Matt was trying pick some grapes with the help of papa.
Yummy grapes!!

Mommy and Matty again...
Nana Sue has this BEAUTIFUL garden in her backyard. She has all kinds of vegetables growing in it. She's got greenbeans, lettuce, tomatoes, lemons, blueberries, squash, pumpkin, etc. Matt loved walking around the garden with nana. It was really cute so I snapped some pictures.
