JUN'S FAVORITE WORDS

Sometimes I call Matt "Jun" because that is his Korean name. Every time I call my mom and dad, they call Matt "Jun". I looked up all the meanings of "Jun (준)" on my Korean dictionary and there were so many meanings to this short one-syllabul word. It means 준 "flat", "to hit", "to finish", "stiff", "deep", "high", and "to be followed"-which is what Matt's name means. Jun has been my favorite boy's name so when we found out that we were having a boy, I knew his Korean name was going to be Jun. People sometimes think it's June like the 6th month though. That's the only downside of the name but I still love it.

Anyway, I didn't really mean to explain what Jun meant when I started writing. I wanted to write about some of Matt's favorite words. There is a word that calms him down in almost any situations....and that is "ZOO" Whenever we are driving and he starts crying in the backseat, Sean and I start saying "I want to go to the ZOOOO" or "Do you want to go to the ZOOOO?" Then he just calms down immediately. Some other phrases that he likes are; "Gooooood Moooorning!!" (but that only works right after he wakes up. He smiles and kicks his feet like crazy!), "Ewwww, stinky feeeet!!" (but with a certain accent, he likes my high pitch voice) These phrases make Matt go absolutely crazy. He also likes when I sing, So far, his favorite song is the froggy song (it's a korean song about a tad pole becoming a frog; Sean loves it as well). Whenever I sing the song, he smiles and almost laughs. It's really cute.

One day after Sean got home from work, he started playing MarioKart on Wii with Matt on his lap. Matt was just staring at the game the whole time.

I love this picture of Sean and Matt! They both look so happy! We got a baby bjorn for our trip to Korea so we tried it out to see if it works well. It looks like it works well!!

Sunglasses

We were going out to the park again because I had a visiting teaching appointment there. It was so hot outside. It was around 100 degrees so I put sunglasses on Matt. He loves them. He looks so cute in those little sunglasses!

I got to watch Alex and Nate for three days last week. I took all the boys to a little part by my apartment. They all had fun, including Matt.

A Date Without Matthew

Sean and I finally went out on a date, just the two of us, without Matthew for the first time since Matt was born! It was so much fun. Of course, I was worried a little bit at first because I was never really away from Matt for more than 15 minutes. But I really enjoyed the date with Sean. Jodi and Scott watched Matt and we went and saw "Get Smart" which is a really good movie by the way. We laughed and laughed and laughed... It was really funny! Well, we think that we want to go on more dates!

From Back to Stomach

Yeah, people! He did it! Matt rolled over from his back to stomach. He did so great! He's been rolling over from his stomach to back but now.... So pretty soon, he's gonna be everywhere!!

Everybody hates me except Sook

So I have been watching Nathan and Alex for the past two days. It's been so much fun. So Alex always says that I hate him because I have been giving so much attention to baby Matthew. He's a little jealous because I used to give him so much attention before Matthew was born. So I have been bothered by it a little bit because I do love Alex. Anyway, today, Alex has been saying this phrase all day. "Everybody hates me.... except Sook." haha I think it's funny because he's been saying that I hate him. So I am glad that he knows that I love him. :)

Matt's Adorable Pictures!

So I know that the hat doesn't really match the blue outfit but I just had to take some pictures because Sean and I picked up the hat at Babies R Us the other night. We do have an outfit that goes with the hat, if you keep looking at the pictures, there is an orange swimwear towards the end of this post. Anyway, sometime soon, I will take some pictures of Matt in the matching outfit! :)

Matt is going through this phase where he just cries and cries for Mommy's attention. He has been crying whenever Sean holds him. We don't know why but he's just being a little turd. But when I took this picture, he wasn't too angry. Anyway we think that it's Sean's new soap that makes Matt angry because Sean used my soap one day and Matt didn't cry at all when Sean held him that day. But now he started crying again because Sean's been using his soap, Axe... Hmm.. Weird!

Matt looks right at the camera when I take pictures.. He's such a photo baby! Maybe I should put him through pageants! Well, no, I don't want him to have to go through all that competition as a little baby.

The monkey in the picture has been Matty's sleeping buddy. Well, now the monkey's pretty much Matt's best friend.

Someone in my ward gave me this towel and I love it! Matt looks like a little frog in the towel. Cute!

We went to a Japanese restaurant (Akebono) for Sean's birthday. Everyone was there to wish Sean a happy birthday! Sean just turned 25! Wow, that's nuts! Well, I didn't get a picture of Sean but did get a picture of me and Matt together! Hmm... that reminds me that we need to get some family pictures!

Matt looks so sad in this picture! Sometimes he doesn't like his diaper being changed.

Matt has been smiling for pictures for a while now. I think he knows how to pose for pictures or something. He's a funny dude. He loves when I take his pictures, I think it's because of the flash light.. I just hope that he doesn't get blinded by it, haha! What can I say, I am a crazy Asian mommy with the camera! :)
